                                            Mrs Baylis - Intervention Teacher.

Mrs Baylis works as our intervention teacher to offer support for individual children, or small groups, focusing on the needs of those children.  The support is for children who have been recognised by the class teacher as benefiting from additional support in one or more areas of the curriculum.  This support can include: handwriting; reading and reading comprehension; writing; spellings; and maths.  Each child is assessed before the intervention and is then monitored throughout the intervention support to measure progress and next steps, which is then fed back to the class teacher.

Class based Teaching Assistants also support learning through interventions based on the needs of the child or children and they work in collaboration with the class teacher.  These interventions are often used to follow up advice from external agencies including: Speech and Language; Educational Psychologist; SSENs support.

Please see the Intervention Policy for further information.
